SDRF Office to Shift to Skill Development Institute in Palakwah Khas Una

Una, January 5- The process of shifting the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) office to the Skill Development Institute building in Palakwah Khas, under Haroli subdivision of Una district, has gained momentum. Following the decision taken earlier in a meeting of the Himachal Pradesh cabinet, the necessary administrative formalities are now being completed at the departmental level.
It is noteworthy that in a recent meeting of the state cabinet, the decision was taken to shift the SDRF to the Skill Development Institute building located in Palakwah Khas of Haroli assembly constituency. In this regard, formal correspondence has now been initiated to ensure coordination between the concerned departments.
In compliance with the cabinet decision, the Department of Labour, Employment and Overseas Placement has issued letters to the Disaster Management Department, General Administration Department, Labour Commissioner, and Deputy Commissioner Una, granting approval for the use of the said building. The letter instructs the district administration to ensure the necessary preparations in coordination with each other. According to the government order, the SDRF is proposed to be shifted to the Skill Development Institute premises in Palakwah Khas by February 15, 2026.
In this regard, Deputy Chief Minister and MLA of Haroli, Mukesh Agnihotri, said that the decision to establish the SDRF office in the Skill Development Institute building in Palakwah was taken in a recent cabinet meeting. Action is now being taken at the departmental level. He said that this step will prove significant in further strengthening the state's disaster management system.
The Deputy Chief Minister said that the permanent deployment of the SDRF will not only benefit Una district but also the surrounding areas, enabling more effective and timely relief and rescue operations during emergencies. This will also give a new administrative and developmental identity to the Haroli region.
