SDM reviews SIR campaign issues necessary directives to supervisors and BLOs

Ratia, July 2: SDM and Returning Officer Surendra Singh held a review meeting with supervisors and Booth Level Officers (BLOs) at his office on Thursday regarding the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) campaign. The progress of election-related tasks was reviewed in detail during the meeting, and instructions were issued to complete the campaign effectively and with high quality within the stipulated timeframe.
The SDM stated that an accurate and error-free electoral roll is crucial for strengthening the democratic process. He directed all BLOs to conduct door-to-door verification with utmost seriousness and transparency, and to complete the tasks of adding eligible voters, removing ineligible ones, and making necessary corrections on time, in accordance with established guidelines.
SDM Surendra Singh instructed supervisors to regularly monitor the work of the BLOs under their jurisdiction and ensure the immediate resolution of any issues or errors. He emphasized that all tasks must be completed within the prescribed deadlines while strictly adhering to the Election Commission's directives.
During the meeting, he also reviewed pending cases and directed the concerned officials to expedite the work. He made it clear that negligence or unnecessary delays at any level would not be tolerated and urged all officers and staff to discharge their duties with full responsibility and dedication.
The SDM informed that following the completion of the door-to-door verification, the draft electoral roll would be published on July 21, 2026. Subsequently, claims and objections would be accepted from July 21 to August 20, 2026. These claims and objections would be resolved by September 18, 2026, and the final electoral roll would be published on September 22, 2026.
Naib Tehsildar Balwan Singh, along with supervisors and BLOs, was present at the meeting.
