SDM Inspects Procurement Centers Reviews Facilities and Crop Procurement Process
Ratia, April 14: SDM Surendra Singh visited procurement centers to inspect operations related to the wheat procurement process. Touring the wheat procurement centers in the villages of Brahmanwala and Kamana, he issued necessary directives to officials regarding the implementation of robust arrangements for the procurement and lifting of wheat.
During his visit, he interacted with farmers, listened to their grievances, and instructed all procurement agencies to make immediate arrangements for lifting the wheat purchased from the *mandis* (markets). This measure aims to ensure that farmers face no inconvenience in selling their produce and to prevent any congestion within the market premises.
SDM Surendra Singh emphasized that all basic amenities—such as sanitation, drinking water, weighing facilities, and electricity—must be consistently maintained within the *mandis*. He directed officials of the Market Committee to ensure that farmers do not encounter any difficulties whatsoever while at the market.
In accordance with government directives, payments for procured crops must be disbursed to farmers within the stipulated timeframe. Furthermore, adequate provisions for clean drinking water, electricity, and restrooms must be properly established across all grain markets and procurement centers.
