SDM Chairs Meeting of Officials to Successfully Complete Special Intensive Revision Work

Ratia, May 26:- Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Surender Singh on Tuesday chaired a meeting of officials in his office located at the Small Secretariat to ensure the successful completion of the special intensive revision work. During the meeting, the progress of the voter list revision work was reviewed, and necessary directives were issued. The Special Intensive Revision 2026 (SIR) work will commence on June 5.
Issuing directives to the officials, the SDM stated that the special intensive revision of the voter list must be conducted with absolute transparency and seriousness so that the names of eligible citizens can be included in the voter list and ineligible names can be removed as per the rules. He added that it is the responsibility of all officials to ensure compliance with the guidelines of the Election Commission.
During the meeting, detailed discussions were held regarding the ongoing work at the booth level, registration of new voters, removal of names of deceased or shifted voters, and making the voter list error-free. The SDM said that all officials must maintain regular contact with Booth Level Officers (BLOs) in their respective areas and review the progress on a daily basis.
He directed that special attention should be paid to the areas where the progress of work is relatively slow to ensure that the task is completed in a time-bound manner. He also warned that if any negligence or laxity is found, the responsibility of the concerned officers and employees will be fixed.
SDM Surender Singh remarked that an accurate and updated voter list plays a vital role in strengthening democracy. Therefore, all officials must execute this task on a priority basis with complete dedication and responsibility.
He informed that from June 5 to June 14, the training of BLOs and the printing of enumeration forms will be carried out. Following this, from June 15, BLOs will visit the houses of all eligible voters to distribute the enumeration forms, get them duly filled by the voters, and recollect them by July 14. The rationalization of polling stations will be completed by July 14, and the publication of the draft voter list will take place on July 21.
The period for receiving claims and objections has been scheduled from July 21 to August 20, while the disposal of the received claims and objections will be done from July 21 to September 18, 2026. The final publication of the voter list will be done on September 22, 2026.
Naib Tehsildar Vichitra Nand, Election Kanungo Satbir Singh, Dr. Harish Singh, SDO Paramjit Singh, Rajendra Kumar, Kuldeep Singh Robin, along with other employees, were present at the meeting.
