Scientists of the Veterinary University were honored at national and international conferences
Ludhiana 20 December 2025:- Faculty members and students of the Department of Veterinary Gynecology and Obstetrics of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana brought laurels to the University through their outstanding performance at the 40th Annual Conference of the Indian Society for the Study of Animal Reproduction. The conference was organized by Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Veterinary Education and Research, Puducherry.
Dr Ashwani Kumar Singh and Dr Ajit Kumar were honored with the Best Oral Presentation Awards for their impressive research contributions. Student Dr Jai Pancholi received the Young Scientist Award as well as the Best Poster Presentation Award.
Dr Mrigank Honparkhe was awarded the prestigious Fellowship. Dr Ajit Kumar was also elected as the Editor-in-Chief of ‘The Indian Journal of Animal Reproduction’ for three consecutive years.
In another conference, Dr Gurjot Kaur Mavi, Scientist, Directorate of Livestock Farms was awarded the prestigious Indian Poultry Science Association -Dr P Kothandaraman Memorial Award-2025, which includes a medal, certificate and a cash prize of ?2,500. She also received the Best Oral Presentation Award for her outstanding research contribution in poultry science.
The awards were presented for her research papers, noting that her work is the first of its kind to be reported globally on indigenous poultry breeds.
The awards were presented during the 40th Annual Conference and National Symposium at the Directorate of Poultry Research, Hyderabad, which saw the participation of over 250 delegates.
Dr. Jatinder Pal Singh Gill, Vice-Chancellor, appreciated the awardees for enhancing the national and international reputation of the university. Dr. Swaran Singh Randhawa, Dean, College of Veterinary Science and Dr. Parkash Singh Brar, Director Research also congratulated the achievers.
