School students made aware about protection from poisonous animals and first aid

Sanaur/Patiala:- A special awareness program was organized at P.M. Government Kanya Senior Secondary Smart School, Sanaur to spread awareness about protection from bites or stings of poisonous snakes, animals and insects and first aid.
On this occasion, Mr. Kaka Ram Verma, Chief Trainer, First Aid Safety Health Awareness Mission and ASI Ram Saran of Punjab Police Traffic Education Cell, while addressing the students and teachers, said that every year in India, lakhs of people, children and laborers are affected due to snakes, poisonous animals and insects. He said that in this regard, the Civil Surgeon Patiala has also issued an advisory for protection from snakes and other poisonous creatures.
Mr. Verma said that about 95 percent of snakes are not poisonous, but fear, panic, heart attack, sudden drop in blood pressure or sugar and not taking them to the hospital on time sometimes cause loss of life. He appealed to the people that instead of taking the victim to a village hospital for snakebite, they should be taken to the hospital immediately.
He also gave detailed information about the first aid to be given in case of snakebite. Apart from this, he said that rabies can be caused not only by dog ??bites but also by the bite, licking or contact with saliva of cats, monkeys, monkeys and other domestic animals.
He said that the place where the animal bites or licks should be washed thoroughly with running water and soap for at least 10 minutes, the wound should not be bandaged and a doctor should be consulted without delay, because it becomes almost impossible to save the patient after rabies. He also gave information about the first aid to be given in case of worms entering the eyes, ears, etc.
Finally, the school principal, Mrs. Karamjit Kaur, thanked the guests and said that Mr. Kaka Ram Verma alone is making a commendable effort to make the students helpful angels for the society by providing such life-saving information to them.
