School Readiness Fair Organized in Dhamandari Panchayat Under Summer Camp
Una, June 16: A 'School Readiness Fair-1' was successfully organized at the Gram Panchayat Bhawan in Dhamandari by the Baba Rudru Supervisor Circle, under the Child Development Project, Una. The event was presided over by Supervisor Nanki Devi. The fair aimed to prepare children aged 3 to 6 years for formal schooling and to engage parents in their children's early development and learning processes.
A large number of local residents participated in the event, including Gram Panchayat Secretary Harjinder Kaur, Gram Panchayat Pradhan Sudesh Kumari, Up-Pradhan Balveer Singh, BDC member Poonam Rani, Ward Panch Urmila Devi, Tailoring Instructor Seema Sharma, Anganwadi workers, helpers, and the children's parents.
During the fair, seven theme-based stalls were set up with a focus on the holistic development of the children. Activities related to registration, physical development, cognitive development, language development, pre-mathematical skills, and socio-emotional development were conducted. These activities helped foster the children's learning capabilities, creativity, and self-confidence.
Anganwadi workers Nisha Rani and Santosh Kumari engaged the children in various interesting and educational activities. At the conclusion of the event, Anganwadi worker Asha Kumari gathered feedback from the parents. Appreciating the fair, parents recorded their views on a feedback chart and described the initiative as highly beneficial for their children's development and school readiness.
Children aged 3 to 6 years participated enthusiastically in the various activities and showed a keen interest in learning. The event effectively highlighted the importance of early childhood education while fostering better communication among children, parents, and Anganwadi workers.
