Scheduled Caste Commission reviews progress of two cases in Amb
Amb (Una), February 12:- A meeting was held in Amb, Una district, on Thursday under the chairmanship of Kuldeep Kumar Dhiman, Chairman of the Himachal Pradesh State Scheduled Caste Commission. The meeting reviewed in detail the progress of two cases related to the Scheduled Castes pending before the Commission.
Detailed information was obtained from police officials regarding the disappearance of a two-year-old girl in November. The police informed that the investigation is ongoing from various angles and necessary action is being taken as per the rules. No conclusive facts have yet been revealed.
Considering the sensitivity of the case, the Commission Chairman stressed the need to proceed with the investigation on a priority basis. He directed that a coordinated and systematic investigation be conducted covering all possible aspects to ensure the factual situation is clarified quickly.
The missing girl belongs to an economically disadvantaged family from the Naihariyan Khalsa area. The Commission met with the parents, listened to their concerns, and assured them that the concerned departments are taking the matter seriously and taking necessary action. The Commission also discussed the progress of the case with DSP Amb and the concerned investigating officer. The meeting recommended the formation of a three-member Special Investigation Team (SIT), which will submit an updated progress report within 10 days.
The second case related to a complaint alleging indecent behavior and threats by a person from another state. The Commission directed the concerned officer to ensure a fair and lawful investigation of the matter so that the facts can be ascertained and necessary action can be taken as per the rules.
Members of the Himachal Pradesh Scheduled Caste Commission, Advocate Vijay Dogra, Advocate Digvijay Malhotra, and Advocate Shalini were present on the occasion. SDM Amb Paras Aggarwal, DSP Amb Anil Patial, ARO Narendra Sharma, Legal Probation Officer Arun Kumar from the District Child Protection Unit, and other officials were also present at the meeting.
