SC Commission reviews action reports on cases received from various districts
Una, January 30: The Himachal Pradesh State Scheduled Castes Commission reviewed the action reports submitted by the respective district administrations on complaints received from the Scheduled Caste community in various districts of the state during a commission meeting on Friday.
Presiding over the meeting, Commission Chairman Kuldeep Kumar Dhiman said that the commission has received response letters from various districts regarding the resolution of these cases, which were reviewed. He said that the commission is ensuring that timely and effective action is taken by the administration in matters related to the Scheduled Castes.
He informed that with the recent joining of Advocate Shalini as a new member, the commission now has its full complement of members. He expressed his gratitude to Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu for this. It was also mentioned that Advocate Vijay Dogra and Advocate Digvijay Malhotra are already serving as members of the commission.
The framework for the commission's upcoming meeting in February was also finalized during the meeting, which will discuss strict monitoring and action on cases related to the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.
During the meeting, Advocate Shalini, a member of the commission, also presented a report on the resolution of a long-standing road dispute in the Scheduled Caste settlements of Kalru village in Dehra sub-division and Rihala village in Kangra sub-division of Kangra district, which was resolved in the presence of local people and officials.
During the meeting, Dile Ram, spokesperson of the Bhim Army Bharat Ekta Mission, submitted a memorandum to the commission chairman. Commission members Advocate Vijay Dogra, Advocate Digvijay Malhotra, and Member Secretary Vinay Modi were also present on the occasion.
