Sawan Kavi Darbar Organized by Progressive Writers Association
Barnala:- Progressive Writers Association Punjab's unit Barnala organized Sawan Kavi Darbar under 'Pindon Pindin Sahit' series at village Bhaddalwaddh's 'Sobha Singh Chitrakar and Sohan Singh Sarpanch Memorial Library'. Presiding over the function, Paramjit Mann said that as today's generation is going away from literature and by starting series of such literary functions in village by Progressive Association, a healthy layer has been added. Organizer of function and former Sarpanch Rajwant Singh threw detailed light about previous literary functions organized in village. While fiction writer Darshan Singh Guru welcomed the guests, Dr. Harbhagwan and Bhola Singh Sanghera informed about different literary functions to be organized in villages in coming time by Barnala unit of Progressive Writers Association.
Kavi Darbar started with Dr. Sampuran Singh Tallewalia's Kavishri Jatha with these lyrics of 'Saun Di Jhadi' -
Children say it is raining we will bathe in rain,
Getting drenched in rain we will eat gulgule mathis kheer and poode.
Ram Saroop Sharma made listeners dance by singing in his sweet voice 'Zindagi Di Phulkari Vich Chawan De Phull Kaddhne...' Jagjit Guram earned much applause with his ghazal 'Oh Enne Rang Badle Ajj Kall, Us Da Chehra Padh Nahi Hunda'.
On this occasion, Rajinder Shouki, Charni Bedil, Manjit Singh Sagar, Jagjit Kaur Dhilwan, Jagtar Jazeera, Ram Pal Shahpuri, Major Singh Gill, Sukhwinder Singh Sneh, Ujagar Singh Mann, Hakam Singh Rooreke, Raghvir Singh Kattu, Dalbara Singh Fauji, Tejinder Chandihok, Darshan Singh Guru, Amandeep Singh Tallewalia and Pal Singh Lahiri etc poets enthralled listeners by reciting poems of different colours.
