Savinder Sandhu honored with the fifth Ustad Rajinder Pardesi Award

Jalandhar - Sahitya Kala Aur Sabhacharak Manch (Regd.) in collaboration with the Central Punjabi Writers' Association organized a grand and impressive program at the Punjab Press Club Jalandhar in memory of the founder president of the manch, the eminent ghazal poet Rajinder Pardesi, in which Prof. Sandhu Varyanvi, Prof. Baldev Singh Balli, Dr. Kanwal Bhalla, Dr. Gurcharan Kaur Kochar, Kuldeep Singh Bedi and Navtej Singh Garhdiwala presided.
While conducting the stage, folk poet Jagdish Rana shared information about the activities of the manch.
Sahiba Jitan Kaur read a pamphlet written by Lect. Balbir Kaur Raikoti about Rajinder Pardesi. Prof. Sandhu Varyanvi expressed her views on the poetry of renowned poet Savinder Sandhu.
On this occasion, the forum honored Savinder Sandhu with the fifth Ustad Rajinder Pardesi Memorial Award, which included a certificate of honor, cash, a magnificent shawl and books. Getting emotional on the occasion, Savinder Sandhu said that this award means a lot to him because he started writing under the supervision of Rajinder Pardesi. Savinder Sandhu also shared his poems. Prof. Baldev Singh Balli, Prof. Sandhu Varyanvi, Dr. Gurcharan Kaur Kochhar, Navtej Garhdiwala etc. said that Dr. Kanwal Bhalla, Jagdish Rana and all the office bearers of the forum have kept Ustad Rajinder Pardesi alive due to their efforts. Eminent novelist and journalist Kuldeep Singh Bedi mentioned his connections with Rajinder Pardesi. Dr. Kanwal Bhalla and Jagdish Rana said that Tajinder Manchanda, son of Rajinder Pardesi, is carrying forward the literary legacy of his father.
In the poet's court held on this occasion, poets like K. Sadhu Singh, Harjit Sandhu, Sarabjit Singh Sandhu, Dr. Gurcharan Kaur Kochar, Gurdeep Singh Saini, Naqash Chittewani, Hardyal Hoshiarpuri, Jagdish Rana, Daljit Mehmi, Babbu Saini, Jinga Singh, Jarnail Sakhi, Mitra Manjit, Keemati Kaiser, Seerat Sikhyarthi, Jeet Surjit Belgium, Jaspal Zirvi, Mohan Matialvi, Sham Sargundi, Gurmukh Luhar, Hira Lal Malhotra, Gulshan Mirzapuri, Inderjit Singh Mishri and others created a lot of color through their works. On this occasion, for the new library to be built at Satguru Kabir Bhawan Welfare Society 120 Feet Road, Prof. Sandhu Variyanvi and Jagdish Rana donated from their personal library Chairman Kuldeep Deepu and Journalist Prem Bhagat was presented with 51 books and a copy of the Indian Constitution. On this occasion, Sukhwinder Singh Sangha, Colonel Jagbir Singh Sandhu, Ashok Goyal, Geeta Verma, Jagdish Dalia, novelist Gurnam Bawa, Preet Mohaddipuria, Nagina Singh Balgan, etc. were specially present, among others.
