Srinagar:- Two American citizens were detained during security check at Srinagar airport. A Garmin satellite phone was recovered during the check of their luggage. The airport security officials initially questioned them and then handed them over to the police. The person from whose bag the phone was found has been identified as Jeffrey Scott, a resident of the US state of Montana.
During a routine security check at the airport, when the luggage of these two American citizens was scanned, a satellite phone made by Garmin was found in one of the bags. Garmin is a well-known company known for manufacturing GPS and satellite devices.
The security personnel immediately stopped both the persons and conducted preliminary interrogation. Since their answers were not considered satisfactory, both were handed over to the police. The police are currently conducting further investigation.
