Saplings planted under Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam Plantation Drive

Dhuri, June 07- On the occasion of World Environment Day 2026, Punjab Pollution Control Board (PPCB), Regional Office, Sangrur in collaboration with M/s Sangrur RNG Pvt. Ltd., Dhuri, District Sangrur organised a plantation drive under Mission LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment) and the nationwide campaign ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’.
The initiative aimed to enhance green cover and promote environmental sustainability in the region through large-scale plantation of native tree species.
Speaking on the occasion, officials of PPCB Regional Office, Sangrur highlighted the importance of tree plantation in combating climate change, improving air quality, and maintaining ecological balance. They encouraged industries and citizens to actively participate in environmental conservation activities and adopt sustainable practices in daily life.
The plantation drive witnessed enthusiastic participation from officers of the Board and staff members of M/s Sangrur RNG Pvt. Ltd. During the drive, approximately 1000 saplings of various native species were planted within the premises of the industry with the objective of strengthening the region’s green infrastructure and promoting a cleaner and healthier environment.
The participants also pledged to plant more trees in the future and ensure proper care and maintenance of the saplings planted during the campaign. The collective effort reflected a strong commitment towards environmental protection and sustainable development.
Officials of PPCB Regional Office, Sangrur and representatives/staff members of M/s Sangrur RNG Pvt. Ltd., Dhuri were present on the occasion.
