RSS does not control BJP Bhagwat

Bhopal: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh chief Dr. Mohan Bhagwat said it is wrong to view RSS from the perspective of BJP or Vishwa Hindu Parishad. Everyone works independently, and the Sangh does not control anyone (BJP). The aim of the Sangh is not power, tickets or elections, but to build the quality and character of the society.
Speaking at the 'Pramukh Jan Goshthi' organised to mark the 100th anniversary of RSS in Bhopal, Bhagwat said that we wear uniforms, march and practice lathicharge. Therefore, if anyone thinks that it is a paramilitary force, it will be a mistake. Bhagwat further said that our religions, sects, languages ??and castes may be different, but Hindu identity unites us all. Our culture, religion and ancestors are also the same. At the symposium, Mohan Bhagwat spoke openly on issues like politics, indigenous economy, youth direction, family life and environment.
On global issues like US tariffs, Bhagwat said that India should give priority to indigenous products. Even if foreign goods are needed, they should be on India's terms. India is not a country that is afraid of tariffs, but has the capacity to become self-reliant. He said that connecting the general public and the youth with Indian culture and values ??is the biggest need of the hour. Citing the example of China, he said that their generation is taught a national perspective from childhood; India should also connect its generation with culture and history.
He said that blind imitation of fashion and consumerism is increasing in the society. Whether it is a picture of Vivekananda or a pop star in the house, it determines the direction of the society. He also advised a ban on fast food culture and said that families should return to the habit of eating together.
Bhagwat said that both supporters and opponents often create a false narrative about the RSS. The real identity of the RSS is social construction, and such dialogue programmes are being organised to convey this true nature to the people.
The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh was not started in opposition or reaction to anyone. The Sangh does not compete with anyone. Its founder, Dr Keshav Baliram Hedgewar, was involved in the freedom movement and, after interacting with many great people of the country, realised the need for social organisation. He said that freedom can be permanent only when there is a sense of self in the society. The fate of the nation is determined by the society, not by leaders or policies. Therefore, Dr Hedgewar founded the Sangh to bring unity and quality in the society, and after years of experimentation, its working method evolved.
He said that the Sangh had decided from the beginning that it would not work as a pressure group. Its goal is to organize the entire Hindu society. By achieving quality and discipline in the society, the country will automatically become empowered. For this purpose, the Sangh creates a national environment through its branches. He said that the work of the Sangh is limited to creating volunteers. Volunteers work in different fields as per the needs of the society. The Sangh does not control the work of any volunteer through remote control.
