Roadways Unions Protest Attempts to File False Case Against Driver
Hisar—Unions representing the Hisar Depot of the State Transport Department have condemned attempts to register an accident case against a roadways driver—three months after the incident occurred—under the guise of an investigation. The unions have warned that if the roadways driver is falsely implicated in the accident case, they will not hesitate to launch a protest movement.
In this regard, a joint meeting was held involving the presidents of the unions affiliated with the Hisar Depot. During the meeting, it was stated that on December 14 of last year, a collision occurred between an unidentified vehicle and a motorcycle in the Sadar area, resulting in the death of one individual. Subsequently, on January 1, 2026, the driver from the Hisar Depot received a telephone call from the Sadar Police Station inquiring about the accident. The roadways driver visited the Sadar Police Station to present his side of the story, asserting that the allegations leveled against him were absolutely false, untrue, and baseless. He maintained that neither the Haryana State Transport bus nor he, as the driver, had any connection whatsoever to the accident. Despite this, the police are attempting to falsely implicate the driver and tarnish the impeccable reputation of the Haryana State Transport Department by leveling false accusations against both the bus and the driver—an act deemed both reprehensible and inhumane.
During the meeting, the roadways unions condemned these efforts by the police, declaring that under no circumstances would they tolerate any attempt to jeopardize the reputation of the Haryana State Transport Department or toy with the career of an innocent employee. They warned that if the police fail to conduct an impartial investigation into the matter and instead attempt to harass or falsely implicate an innocent employee, the 'Sanjha Morcha Sangharsh Samiti' (Joint Front Struggle Committee) will not hesitate to launch a massive protest movement, for which the entire responsibility will rest solely with the police administration. The unions also noted that, in connection with this matter, the Depot General Manager has already sent a written letter to the Superintendent of Police requesting an impartial investigation. The meeting of the roadways unions was attended by numerous employee leaders and staff members, notably including Ajay Duhan (President of the Hisar Organizing Committee), Sandeep Jainawas, Rajesh Jangra, Karmbir Masudpur, Pramod Matani, Shivkumar, Hanuman Jangra, Ajit Rohilla, Anup Shyokand, Amit Juglan, Jitendra Sharma, Bajrang, Narendra Kharad, and Rajpal.
