Retired Personnel of the Military Nursing Service Register Now
Una, May 5: Lieutenant Colonel (Retd.) S.K. Kalia, Deputy Director of the Department of Sainik Welfare, Una, has urged retired personnel of the Military Nursing Service (MNS) residing in the district to register themselves at the District Sainik Welfare Office, Una.
He explained that, until now, the status of 'Ex-Serviceman' was primarily limited to officers and soldiers retired from the Army, Navy, and Air Force; however, following a decision by the Central Government, retired personnel of the Military Nursing Service have now also been included in the category of Ex-Servicemen.
The Deputy Director noted that the District Sainik Welfare Office currently lacks details regarding retired MNS personnel residing within the district. Consequently, any retired personnel of the Military Nursing Service currently living in the district are requested to contact the District Sainik Welfare Office, Una, without delay to register their names and obtain an Ex-Serviceman Identity Card. This will enable them to avail themselves of the various welfare schemes, facilities, and other benefits administered for ex-servicemen.
