Representatives of Class IV Employees Begin Protest Hunger Strikes at District Headquarters
Patiala 14 August:- As part of its series of traditional action programs, the Class Fourth Government Employees Union Punjab (1680) has started protest warning hunger strikes at the district headquarters and on 15th August, by taking out a protest march up to the flag hoisting venue, will submit memorandums of two dozen long-pending demands to the Ministers coming to hoist the National Flag, such as getting the employees, pensioners and old workers regularized, getting the old pension restored, getting their economic exploitation ended and getting the contract system completely abolished, adding the benefit of services rendered including under the contract system at the time of regularization, and releasing without any delay the pending minimum wages of Rs. 40,000, restoring the special increment of 2011 of Class IV employees which has been snatched away, including restoration of all stopped allowances, making regular recruitments from now onwards, implementing pay scales and allowances recommended by the Pay Commission for all scheme workers including Mid-Day Meal workers, regularizing without any delay the sanitation workers, sewermen etc. Class IV employees in Municipal Corporations, Municipal Councils, Nagar Councils, implementing minimum wages for low-paid employees in the Health Department of Punjab and implementing minimum wages without any delay for the employees working in construction, sanitary, electricity etc. branches in the Mandi Board, regularizing the employees in the Board and implementing minimum wages without any delay, similarly, by amending the regularization policy of 2023, implementing full pay scales and allowances for the employees regularized under this policy in Forest, Wildlife and Forest Corporation, regularizing the outsourced security guards related to Food Grain Agencies who have been working for a long time in government and semi-government institutions, similarly including workers of schools, colleges, animal husbandry, forest department. In this way, the demands of Anti-Larva (Breeding) workers in the Health Department have also been included in this memorandum.
Leaders Darshan Singh Lubana, Ranjit Singh Ranwan said that on the 27th, Class IV employees will participate with great enthusiasm in the action program by the Joint Front. The leaders said that the officers of the Punjab Mandi Board have now backed out from the demands accepted and assurances given in the meetings held over the last two years. Therefore, warning dharnas will be started from 22nd August at the private residence of the Chairman of Mandi Board, Shri Harchand Singh Burst, at Patiala.
As per their strategy, the hunger strike by Class IV employees was started by 21 representatives from the Civil Surgeon Office to Mata Kaushalya Hospital Complex, Patiala, and a rally and a protest march was also taken out in the market. On this occasion Darshan Singh Lubana, Jaspal Mehra, Ram Lal Rama, Shiv Charan, Ram Prasad Sahota, Prakash Singh Lubana, Inderpal Walia, Dharminder, Ukar Singh, Sunil Dutt, Rajesh Kumar Pradhan C.M.O., Prem Kumar, Mod Nath, Harbans Lal, Makhan Singh, Balwinder Singh Patran, Gurinder Guri, Tarlochan Mandoli, Ajay Kumar Nabha, Ram Yodha, Jaspal, Amar Nath, Ram Kailash, Dharminder Mata Kaushalya, Sat Narayan Goni, Baljit Singh Balli, Tarlochan Maru, Mod Nath, Lakhvir Singh, Ajay Kumar, Sanju Kumar, Sunita, Meenu, Mumtaz, Kamlesh Goni, Satnam Singh, etc. were present.
