Rent recovery battle Corporation vs defaulters
Karnal, October 8: Municipal Corporation Commissioner Dr. Vaishali Sharma has announced that the corporation has decided to repair 16 previously sealed shops. To this end, a team formed by the corporation will inspect the shops on the spot on October 13, 2025, and assess the condition of the damage.
She stated that the tenants of the respective shops will be required to be present on the spot during this period. The shops will be de-sealed in their presence, and the goods recovered from the shops will be evaluated and sold through public auction, to recover the outstanding rent and other outstanding dues.
The Commissioner stated that repair work will be carried out by the corporation's engineering branch as needed in shops found to be damaged. After the repair work is completed, the corporation will re-let the shops through open bidding. This will protect the corporation from financial losses and ensure effective use of assets.
The Municipal Commissioner stated that this decision was taken to strengthen the corporation's financial position and ensure better use of assets. He appealed to the concerned tenants to be present on the scheduled date, October 13th, and cooperate with the Municipal Corporation in this process.
