Nawanshahr:- He was the president of the local Punjab Sahitya Sabha for 32 years and edited about 17 books of ghazals, songs, poems and many other books in his life and brought Punjabi mother tongue to the fold. He passed away due to a heart attack. He was 74 years old. He was cremated at the crematorium on Banga Road.
His son Mukesh Kumar lit the pyre. In this hour of grief, Dr. Sukhwinder Kumar Sukhi MLA Banga, brothers Dr. LR Badhan, Harbalas Badhan, Ram Lal Badhan, wife Sunita Badhan, Dr. Paramjit Mann, Dr. Jagmohan Puri, Harikishan Singh Patwari, Paramjit Singh Khalsa MC, Dilbagh Singh former District Education Officer, Tarsem Saki, Darshan Dardi, District President of Central Punjabi Writers' Sabha Sekhon Des Raj Bali, Manohar Lal former MC, Kamaljit Lal etc. were present.
