Hoshiarpur:- Bahujan Samaj Party leader Bhagwan Singh Chauhan, who passed away recently after a brief illness, was offered his last rites at a special tribute ceremony at Roshan Ground, Hoshiarpur, in front of Gurdwara Kalgidhar. On this occasion, leaders of various religious, social and political parties, friends and relatives paid tribute to Bhagwan Singh Chauhan.
Among those who paid tribute on this occasion were BSP Punjab President Dr. Avtar Singh Karimpuri, former member of Rajya Sabha, Member of Parliament Dr. Raj Kumar Chabbewal, Gurnam Chaudhary in-charge BSP Punjab, contractor Bhagwan Das Sidhu, General Secretary BSP Punjab, former Union Minister Vijay Sampla, Sohan Singh Thandal, Mayor Surinder Kumar, Sanjeev Talwar, Advocate Rohit Joshi, among others.
Paying tribute to Mr. Chauhan on this occasion, BSP Punjab President Dr. Avtar Singh Karimpuri, former member of Rajya Sabha, said that Bhagwan Singh Chauhan's life has been very challenging. After rising above poverty and village level, he worked hard abroad and struggled a lot for his family, sisters and brothers after retiring as a radio officer in the Indian Navy. After returning from abroad, he was influenced by Sahib Kanshi Ram's movement for socio-economic and political change and joined the Bahujan Samaj Party and achieved the position of a national level leader in a very short time. He said that Chauhan ji performed the responsibility of coordinator of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal and Punjab with full dedication and honesty, making the mentally slaves feel the slavery and left this mortal world forever. He said that BSP will always protect Mr. Chauhan's logical and progressive thinking and will always stand with the family in every sorrow and happiness. On this occasion, Mr. Chauhan's son Sonu Chauhan and daughter-in-law Tania, wife Jeet Kaur and siblings were present.
