Karnal: A tragic incident has been reported from the Phusgarh area of ??the district, where a 24-year-old woman allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself just before her wedding. Preliminary investigations reveal that she had spoken to her fiancé via video call shortly before the incident. The police are investigating the matter from various angles.
Chandni, a 24-year-old resident of Phusgarh, Karnal, worked as a nurse at a private hospital. She was alone at home at the time of the incident. When her mother returned home, she found Chandni's body hanging. Shocked by the sight, the mother raised an alarm and called other family members to the scene.
Upon receiving the information, the police from the Sector 32-33 station and an FSL team arrived at the site and initiated an investigation. Initial inquiries revealed that Chandni had spoken to her fiancé on a video call prior to the suicide. Her fiancé resides in Italy, and the wedding was scheduled to take place in about three months.
Family members allege that during the video call, the fiancé refused to go through with the marriage; distressed by this, Chandni took the extreme step. The police collected evidence from the scene, took the body into custody for a post-mortem examination, and subsequently handed it over to the family. The police are currently investigating every aspect of the case.
