Reethkheri SubDivision Work Stoppage Strike Against Assault and Threats to Employees
Patiala, July 6, 2026:- Today, all employees of the Reethkheri Sub-Division staged a protest by locking the gates of the office. The protest was held following a series of incidents where a consumer assaulted employees in village Chalaila on June 13, 2026. Furthermore, on June 15, 2026, the same individual arrived at the Reethkheri Sub-Division armed with a stick, openly hurling abuses at employees and issuing death threats.
In response to these incidents, a report was filed with the SSP, Patiala, and the Phaganmajra police post on June 18, 2026, requesting action in accordance with departmental guidelines. However, as of July 6, 2026, the administration has failed to take any appropriate action against the accused, Bhajan Singh of village Phaganmajra. The accused continues to openly issue death threats, creating an atmosphere of fear among the employees, who now fear for their lives and safety while performing their duties.
Demanding immediate action against the accused, all employees of the sub-division have launched an indefinite work-stoppage strike. The employees have stated that this struggle may escalate to the Division General Secretary level if action is not taken against the culprit, Bhajan Singh.
