Reasoning power is not just an examination tool but a lifestyle Harmanjit Kaur

Fatehgarh Sahib:- As part of the series of coordination with higher educational institutions under the National Population Education Policy Project, the District Education and Training Institute (DEET), Fatehgarh Sahib, interacted with young learners under the chairmanship of Dr. Bikramjit Singh Sandhu, Principal of Mata Gujri College, Fatehgarh Sahib. Addressing the learners, Principal Dr. Bikramjit Singh Sandhu shared many tips on proper use of time and maintaining mental balance in times of pressure with the learners.
On this occasion, Resource Person and Young Scholar Harmanjit Kaur, who specially arrived, conducted a one and a half hour session on Reasoning skills. During this session, Ph.D. in Mathematics from Thapar University Harmanjit Kaur, who has completed her B.A. and is a national chess player, said that Reasoning Power is not just about passing exams or clearing competitive exams, but Reasoning Power is a lifestyle that helps in solving life-long problems.
She said that Reasoning Power teaches us that in life, it is not enough to find a solution to a problem, but the direction and path to reach that solution are also very important. Sharing many patterns of Reasoning Power and tips to solve them from the perspective of competitive exams, she said that sometimes mistakes made in negligence, overconfidence or haste lead to the wrong direction instead of the right solution to the problem.
Lecturer Kanwaldeep Singh Sohi said that Harmanjit Kaur has represented the state in a mental game like chess along with doing her PhD in a subject like mathematics and has also obtained the NCC's 'C Certificate' with A grade. Harmanjit Kaur has received district level honors on the basis of merit for academic achievements.
Sohi said that such multifaceted talents become a source of inspiration for the youth. Institute Head Dr. Anand Gupta said that such sessions play an important role in preparing the students for future challenges in addition to the curriculum and DIET is always ready for such events.
Dr. Kuldeep Singh Deep said that Harmanjit Kaur represents that ‘Jain-G’, who is at the same time an expert in her skills and is also conscious about her rights. On this occasion, the students made this session more beneficial by actively participating. DIET teachers Vandana Chopra, Narinder Kaur, Jaspal Kaur, Harpreet Kaur, Gurpreet Singh, Sujad Ali and Tanveer Singh also participated with enthusiasm like the students.
