Raja Warnings slip of tongue enrages Dalit community
Karnal, November 7: The controversy surrounding Punjab Congress President Raja Warning's alleged derogatory remarks against former Home Minister and senior Congress leader, the late Sardar Buta Singh, is deepening. Karnal Congress leader and All India SC-ST Forum Joint Secretary Mr. Jaswant Singh has announced a criminal case against Warning for this remark. Jaswant Singh stated that the late Buta Singh was a respected and dignified leader who brought glory to the Dalit community as well as the entire nation.
He demanded that the Congress high command immediately expel Raja Warning from the party. Mr. Jaswant Singh stated that Raja Warning has not only insulted the Dalit community but also hurt the ideology of the Congress. He said that he will go to the Akal Takht Sahib and demand religious action against Warning from the Singh Sahibans.
He also clarified that there is no place for casteism in the Sikh faith. The Gurus have always preached equality. The Sikh community respects every individual. Jaswant Singh has written a letter to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and party president Mallikarjun Kharge demanding the immediate expulsion of Raja Warring from the party.
On this occasion, INLD youth leader Gurpreet Singh also strongly condemned Raja Warring's remarks. He said that this act is unforgivable and the people of the community are ready to protest against it. Gurpreet Singh warned that if action is delayed, Congress will have to suffer the consequences.
