Rain Relief for common people disaster for farmers

Chandigarh- Intermittent rains have continued in Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh since Monday morning. While the rain has brought relief to the common people from the heat and humid weather, the rain has become a disaster for the farmers. The farmers have been hit double by the rain. First, the floods have destroyed the paddy crop standing in the fields, now the paddy harvest and the piles of paddy in the markets have worried the farmers.
Heavy rain and strong winds have continued in more than a dozen cities of Punjab since this morning. The rain and strong winds have increased the problems of the farmers. During this time, most of the farmers have started worrying about the paddy harvest. On top of that, they are having to face the problems separately due to non-sale of paddy in the markets.
According to the information received from the Meteorological Department, since this morning, rain has been falling in many cities including Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Moga, Pathankot, Ferozepur, Fazilka, Mohali, Patiala and Fatehgarh Sahib. Due to strong winds accompanying the rain, the paddy crop has been scattered in the fields. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of rain in North India including Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh for the next 48 hours.
