Railways Sets Rules for Luggage During Travel

Jaito, June 8: In a press release issued on Monday, the Firozpur Division of Northern Railway stated that Indian Railways has established rules regarding the carriage of luggage during train journeys to ensure the convenience and safety of passengers. These rules prescribe maximum luggage limits for passengers traveling in various classes of coaches. Carrying luggage in excess of the prescribed limit may attract a penalty in accordance with the rules.
Passengers can book and transport luggage exceeding the prescribed limit via the luggage van. The luggage limits based on coach class are as follows: 70 kg for First AC, 50 kg for Second AC, 40 kg for Third AC, 40 kg for Sleeper Class, and 35 kg for Second Class.
Shri Basant Kumar, Senior Commercial Manager of Northern Railway's Firozpur Division, has appealed to all passengers to carry luggage within the prescribed limits to ensure that their journey—as well as that of other passengers—remains safe, smooth, and pleasant.
