Railways sends rice wagon to Pampore for the first time

Ambala, July 31:- Ambala Railway Division has successfully loaded and sent private party food grains (rice) to Pampore in Jammu and Kashmir for the first time. According to a notification issued by the Railways, the Ambala Division of Northern Railway is continuously striving to ensure that the products of small industries and small traders reach the Jammu and Kashmir valley at low transportation costs.
The Division is continuously taking steps to make freight services more accessible, economical and business-friendly. In this regard, a total of seven wagons of organic fertilizer were successfully sent to Anantnag from the Goods Warehouse of Ambala Cantonment between April and June and one wagon of private party rice was also sent to Anantnag. This initiative has received a positive response from the business community.
Based on the above achievement, for the first time today, a wagon of private party grain (rice) has been loaded from the Goods Warehouse of Ambala Cantonment to Pampore in Jammu and Kashmir. This initiative is a significant achievement in ensuring uninterrupted food supply to the Jammu and Kashmir region as well as connecting local traders with the freight services of the Railways.
This loading will generate a revenue of about Rs. 64,000 per wagon for the Ambala Division. This initiative will not only increase the revenue of the Railways but will also promote a more economical and environment-friendly transport system as compared to road transport.
