Quarterly Inspection of EVM Warehouse Conducted in Hoshiarpur
Hoshiarpur: Acting under the directives of the Election Commission of India and the leadership of District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain, a quarterly inspection (specifically involving the opening and examination of the internal conditions) of the district-level EVM warehouse was conducted today for the quarter ending March 2026. Assistant Commissioner Parmpreet Singh was specially present on this occasion.
As part of the inspection process, all relevant records, logbooks, and entry registers were also scrutinized to ensure complete transparency.
Assistant Commissioner Parmpreet Singh stated that the quarterly inspection of the EVM warehouse is a regular and essential procedure. Its objective is to uphold the fairness, security, and transparency of the electoral process. He expressed satisfaction that the arrangements at the district warehouse were found to be in strict compliance with the highest standards.
Speaking on the occasion, representatives of various political parties remarked that this initiative by the Election Commission strengthens public trust in the democratic process and serves to dispel misconceptions often circulated regarding the impartiality of the machines.
Also present on this occasion were Rajneesh Tandon (Indian National Congress), Bhushan Kumar Sharma (BJP), and Jaspal Singh (Aam Aadmi Party), alongside Nodal Officer (EVMs) Balwinder Singh, Tehsildar (Elections) Harminder Singh, Election Kanungo Deepak Kumar, and Lakhvir Singh.
