Punjabi Sahit Sabha Patiala launches Kuldeep Kaur Bhullars novel Istri Katha
Patiala, December 14:- Today, Punjabi Sahit Sabha (Regd.) Patiala launched novelist Kuldeep Kaur Bhullar's new novel 'Istri Katha' at the Language Department, Patiala. The presiding officers of the event included Dr. Darshan Singh 'Aasht', President of the Sabha, Mr. Vivek Tiwari, Principal of DAV Public School Patiala, Mr. Bhagwan Das Gupta, eminent social worker, Barrister and Solicitor Paramjit Singh Gill (Canada), eminent novelist Pargat Singh Sidhu (Barnala), versatile writer Sukhdev Singh Shant (USA), Prof. Harjaspreet Kaur Gill (Canada) and Harpal Singh Sewak (Sri Bhaini Sahib).
At the beginning of the event, the president of the society, Dr. Darshan Singh ‘Aasht*, while welcoming the writers from home and abroad, said with reference to this novel by Kuldeep Kaur Bhullar that the Sahitya Sabha has been continuously contributing to the promotion of the mother tongue Punjabi for the last seven decades by bringing together three generations on a constructive platform.
Principal Vivek Tiwari, supporting Bhullar’s ??writing, said that this novel embodies the feelings of women very closely and strengthens the identity of the female mind. Mr. Bhagwan Da Gupta, who provided full support from every side, said that such events of the Sahitya Sabha provide solid guidance to the society while maintaining literary balance.
Paramjit Singh Gill, who arrived from Canada with great honor, after reciting a beautiful ghazal in Tarannum, expressed the view that the Punjabi Sahitya Sabha Patiala has provided peace by drawing him from Canada with its literary fragrance and bringing him to this gathering. Renowned novelist Pargat Singh Sidhu was of the opinion that Bhullar should create more such novels that present the emotions and reality of women. Prof. Harjaspreet Kaur Gill called this symposium meaningful.
Novelist Harjit Kaur Virk, the keynote speaker on this book, said that with more effort, Kuldeep Kaur Bhullar will emerge as a good novelist of novels written in the future. Former Assistant Director of the Department of Language, Punjab, Dr. Harnek Singh Dhot, Kulwinder Chawla and Assistant Professor of Patel Nehru Memorial College, Rajpura, Dr. Swaranjit Kaur expressed their feelings from different perspectives.
Besides the patron of the society, Babu Singh Rehal, General Secretary Davinder Patialvi, Balbir Singh Dildar and Navdeep Singh Mundi also took the discussion forward. Kuldeep Kaur Bhullar, while discussing her novel process, said that the valuable points expressed by all the scholars will become a guide to improve her future writing.

On this occasion, critic and poet Dr. Gurmeet Singh Kallarmajri presented his two poetry books ‘Thande Burj Da Affidavit* and ‘Jithe Baba Pare Dhari* to the president of the Sabha Dr. Asht and then to all the guests. In the end, Babu Singh Rahal thanked the writers who had arrived. The role of stage management was played by General Secretary Patialvi and Navdeep Singh Mundi. The guests were also honored.
