Patiala, February 5:- The literary event to be held at 9.30 am on February 8, 2026 by Punjabi Sahit Sabha (Regd.) Patiala at Language Department, Punjab, Sheran Wala Gate, Patiala has been postponed. Now this event will be organized on Sunday, March 8, 2026 at Language Department.
Giving this information, the President of the Sabha, Dr. Darshan Singh Asht and General Secretary Davinder Patialvi said that this decision has been taken by the executive committee in view of the last rites being performed on the same day, i.e. February 8, 2026, after the demise of the patron of the Sabha, Dr. Gurbachan Singh Rahi.
It is noteworthy that Dr. Rahi passed away on February 1, 2026 at a hospital in Patiala. The last rites in his name will be held at the historic Gurdwara Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Sahib, Bahadurgarh (Patiala) from 12 noon to 1 pm. The society has requested all the writers to join in the final prayers of this great writer and scholar.
