Nawanshahr:- The local Punjab Sahitya Sabha Reg. Nawanshahr organized the annual Sawan Kavi Darbar. The chief guest of which was Mr. Jagroop Singh, District Program Officer. On this occasion, the chief guest cut the ribbon and inaugurated the program and said that poets, writers and literary figures are the mirror of the society, who through their pens are helpful in bringing the evils spread in the society and the misguided people into the mainstream with their works that guide them.
President of the Sabha Darshan Dardi and Chairman Manmohan Singh Gulati welcomed the poets and dignitaries and General Secretary Des Raj Bali presented the annual report of the Sabha and shed light on the efforts being made for the promotion of Punjabi mother tongue and the Sabha briefly explained the literary achievements of Dr. Malkit Kaur Jandi.
Dr. Malkit Kaur Jandi was honored by the Sabha. Surinder Pal Gorakhpur was also honored with special honors. On this occasion, Daljit Mehmi, Lali Kartarpuri, Harbalas Badhan, Darshan Dardi, Vasdev Pardesi Press Secretary, Hari Krishna Patwari, Poonam Bala, Manmohan Singh Gulati, Hari Krishna Banga, Amreek Begampuri, Advocate Jaspreet Singh Bajwa, Surinder Pal Gorakhpur, Advocate Rohit Bali, Advocate Pradeep Kumar, Shamha Malhan, Veena Sharma, Ashwani Joshi, Priya, Rita Sidhu, Dr. Malkit Kaur Jandi etc. read their works in the Kavi Darbar. The stage was conducted by Des Raj Bali.
