We deeply condemn the alleged misbehavior and forced removal of working journalists, including women journalists, by the authorities. Such actions are unfortunate and unacceptable in a democratic society where freedom of the press and dignity of journalists must always be respected and protected.
Punjab Press Club, Jalandhar fully supports the stand taken by the Press Club of India and urges the authorities concerned to take immediate and appropriate action against those responsible for this misbehavior. The right of journalists to work without fear, intimidation or hindrance is fundamental to the functioning of a healthy democracy.
