Punjab Police busts terrorist module

Amritsar:- A terrorist module affiliated with ISI-based Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) has been busted in a joint operation by District Amritsar Rural, District Gurdaspur and SSOC-Amritsar along with central agencies. Two accused have been arrested in this case.
DGP Gaurav Yadav revealed this on his social media account X.
According to the DGP, this module was working on the instructions of a handler based abroad and was planning major attacks to disrupt law and order in the state.
During the operation, the security forces have recovered a large quantity of explosive material, including 5 hand grenades, 2 special detonators, a PTT timer equipped with a coder-decoder, a 9 volt battery and about 1 kg of explosives, which was to be used to make a possible IED. Apart from this, a Baofeng walkie-talkie and trigger mechanism have also been seized, which indicates the preparation of attacks.
According to police sources, the arrested accused were working on the instructions of a foreign handler associated with Pakistan's intelligence agency ISI. The investigating agencies are investigating other associates of this module, funding sources and international links. An FIR has been registered in this regard under relevant sections of the Explosive Substances Act. Top officials said that a major terror conspiracy has been foiled with this successful operation.
