Punjab level protest declared over nonimplementation of reservation policy

Patiala:- Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) SC-BC Employees Welfare Association and **Reservation Chor Phadho Pakka Morcha** have declared a protest against the Punjab government alleging non-implementation of reservation policy in the teaching departments of the Agricultural University and not getting due rights to the reserved categories in the recruitment of physics lecturers in government senior secondary schools of Punjab.
During a meeting held at Urban Estate Phase-2, senior leaders of the organizations, Professor Harnek Singh, Swaran Singh, Nirmal Singh and Ram Singh Pal, jointly said that till date, the reservation policy as per the constitution has not been implemented in the teaching departments of Punjab Agricultural University established in 1962, while recruitments are made as per the reservation rules in other universities of the country.
The leaders said that the advertisements issued by the Directorate of Education Recruitment of the Punjab Government for the recruitment of Physics lecturers in government senior secondary schools also make it clear that SC and BC categories are not being given their due representation in the general roster.
They said that reservation is not the favor of any government, but is a right of legal and social justice provided by the Indian Constitution. Therefore, the reservation policy should be implemented with complete transparency and according to the constitutional provisions.
The leaders of the organizations said that talks will be held with the Punjab Government soon to resolve this matter. If even after this, the reservation policy is not implemented properly, then a fierce struggle will be started at the Punjab level.
On this occasion, Dr. Nirmal Singh, Manish Bhatia, Swaran Singh, Soni, Kunwarveer Singh, Yadvinder Singh, Ram Singh, Jai Singh, Manmohan Singh, Pappi Gill and other leaders were also present.
