Punjab Government Launches Worlds Largest Healthcare Initiative Karamjit Kaur

Hoshiarpur: District Planning Committee Chairperson Karamjit Kaur stated that the Chief Minister's Health Scheme launched by the Punjab Government is one of the largest healthcare initiatives not only in the country but globally, providing free treatment to a large number of needy families daily. She stated that 343 special health card-making camps have been set up in the district under the scheme to ensure that more people can benefit from it.
She stated that the scheme, which began implementation across Punjab on January 22nd, covers approximately 6.5 million families. This scheme will provide cashless and free treatment up to ?10 lakh to approximately 30 million people. She stated that approximately 900 government and private hospitals across the state have been empanelled under the scheme, and 2,356 treatment packages are included.
Karamjit Kaur explained that beneficiaries are first given an appointment slip to obtain a health card, after which they are registered. According to health department officials, Aadhaar card and voter card are required for individuals over 18 years of age, while birth certificate and Aadhaar card are required for children under 18.
She appealed to district residents to visit their nearest health camps to obtain health cards so that they can avail free treatment up to Rs 10 lakh if ??needed. She stated that the Mann government's objective is to provide better health security to every family and relieve them of financial burden.
