Punjab government gives top priority to womens safety Karamjit Kaur

Hoshiarpur:- Chairperson of District Planning Committee, Hoshiarpur, Karamjit Kaur said that the Punjab government is fully committed to the safety, dignity and empowerment of women. She said that free assistance has been provided to 5,121 women victims of violence by November 2025 through the One Stop Centers running in the state, which shows the sensitive and effective functioning of the government.
Karamjit Kaur said that under the leadership of Women and Child Development Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur, the state government is ensuring that women victims of violence get all the necessary services including medical aid, legal advice, psychological support and temporary shelter under one roof and it is also being ensured that the victim women get speedy justice and protection.
She said that the One Stop Centers are not only centers of assistance, but also play an important role in the rehabilitation and self-reliance of women. The government is continuously making efforts to strengthen these centers so that every victimized woman gets a chance to live a dignified life.
Chairperson Karamjit Kaur said that the administration at the district level is also ensuring that information about the one-stop centers reaches maximum women so that women in need can get help without any fear. She also appealed to the community to unite and speak out against any kind of violence against women so that a safe and empowered society can be built.
