Punjab and Haryana High Court stays arrest of rapper Badshah

Chandigarh:- The Punjab and Haryana High Court has granted relief to singer and rapper Badshah in the Tatihari song case. The Haryana Women's Commission had ordered Badshah's arrest after he failed to appear before the commission in this case. Badshah had filed a petition in the High Court against his arrest, on which the High Court has decided to stay the arrest of Badshah for the time being.
It is worth mentioning that two cases have been registered against rapper and singer Badshah in Haryana regarding the controversial lyrics of the Tatihari song. After the High Court's orders, the police will now withdraw the lookout notice issued against him. The Haryana Women's Commission had taken strict notice of the obscenity in the lyrics of Badshah's Tatihari song and had ordered the SSP of Panchkula to arrest him.
The Haryana Women's Commission had earlier ordered the arrest of Bollywood singer and rapper Badshah today and earlier on March 14 in connection with the 'Tatihari' song controversy. Actually, Badshah was asked to appear in Panipat but he did not reach there. His lawyers had argued before the commission that Badshah was busy with some important work due to which he could not come and he had sought more time to appear.
Due to Badshah's non-appearance, the women's commission president Renu Bhatia got very angry and warned that if Badshah did not appear by 3 pm, strict action would be taken against him. When the lawyers came again at 3 pm and sought time, the commission president immediately directed the SPs of Panchkula and Panipat to arrest Badshah and seize his passport so that he could not leave the country. He said in strong words that the commission is now fully prepared to take strict action to protect the dignity of daughters and sisters.
