Project to lay underground power lines begins Mann
Chandigarh:- Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann inaugurated a power project along with senior officials. A pilot project to lay underground power lines in Punjab began today in Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann's village Satoj, Sangrur. Chief Minister Mann was present on the occasion. He said that this day will be written in "golden letters" as no other state has ever thought of such a project.
Only those people who have personally faced problems can start such initiatives. On this occasion, he also took a sharp attack on the Prime Minister, saying that he tells people not to fly, while he himself has traveled abroad. He further said that these trips benefit the Prime Minister's industrialist friends, while the country is becoming poorer. Meanwhile, women will soon get Rs 1,000 and Rs 1,500.
The Chief Minister said that earlier there was politics in installing electricity poles. Bribes had to be paid to install them and disputes often arose. When he was working as an artist, he had a dream that if he ever got the chance, he would remove these poles. However, due to the long project, it took time to complete. Now, fiber cables have arrived, which can work in all weathers. The government had guaranteed digital work, and work in this direction has started. All the work is being done digitally. Now, registrations are also being done in Punjabi, whereas earlier, they were done in Urdu, and people could not understand what was written.
The Chief Minister said that the project is a "pain point" for the people, as the poles get knocked over during storms. The project will involve uprooting about 382 poles from the village. First, new connections will be provided, and then the main supply will be restored. The removed poles will be installed in the houses of the panchayat.
He said it was time to let go of things that had become problems and try something new. He started from his village because it was easier to convince people there. This is a pilot project, under which 41 km of cable will be laid, which will cost about Rs 8 crore. Other wires, including the 11,000-volt line, will also be buried underground. All the poles on the roadside will be removed.
The Chief Minister said that countries like Nepal, Sri Lanka and Turkey have not taken such decisions. He accused the Union government of blaming its failures on the situation in the Gulf countries. The Prime Minister has repeatedly talked about saving the country, yet he himself is constantly on foreign trips.
He said that the Prime Minister should disclose the agreements reached during his foreign trips to Parliament and the press. He added that he would make everything public after returning from his trip. He alleged that the Prime Minister takes his industrialist friends abroad and returns only after starting their projects, while the country becomes poorer and his friends become richer.
