Probe intensified into custodial torture of youth arrested under POCSO Act
Ambala, 29 July:- Probe into third-degree torture during custody of youth arrested under POCSO Act has been intensified. Special team (SIT) formed on written complaint of accused youth has included the then SHO Inspector in investigation and interrogated him and he has been directed to get regular bail from court while co-accused ASI Ram Bhateri made in case has been again issued notice and asked to join investigation.
Sahil Masih son of Patras resident CNI Church Sadar Bazar Ambala arrested under FIR number 300 dated 24/09/2024 under Section 6 of POCSO Act who was lodged in Central Jail Ambala, yesterday he along with his legal advisor held a press conference and told media that when he was arrested he was tortured during custody. He alleged that due to beating his knee got badly swollen and infection also occurred in his private part due to which he is having lot of difficulty in walking and urinating. On his complaint court had got medical done and at that time police had said about levelling false allegation.
Legal advisor of Sahil Masih told that on 13,14 and 16 July special investigation team has conducted in-depth investigation in this matter. Police says that all facts will come to light only after investigation on basis of which further action will be taken.
SIT member SHO of PS Sadar Ambala Cantt Dharmveer told that Inspector has been included in investigation and interrogated and he has been directed to take bail from court. Co-accused in case ASI Ram Bhateri has also been again issued notice and asked to join investigation.
SP Ambala Ajit Singh Shekhawat says that Inspector is being included in investigation and interrogated.
