Ambala, December 31:- On Tuesday, the body of Jatinder alias Kallu, a resident of Pinjore, lodged in the Central Jail Ambala, was found hanging from the drain of his lower chamber in the toilet of the jail dispensary. On receiving information, Baldev Nagar police reached the spot at 10 am and took the body into custody and sent it to the Civil Hospital for postmortem, where a panel of doctors conducted his postmortem today. Investigating officer Jaswant Singh said that the exact cause of death will be known only after the postmortem report comes.
Prisoner Jatinder was accused of kidnapping an 8-month-old child and then killing him. Two of his accomplices were also involved in this crime. Initially, he had planned to rape the child's mother while intoxicated, but when the woman resisted, the accused ran away with the child. At night, when the child started crying, the accused stuffed an apple in his mouth, which caused the child to die. The accused buried the child's body in the forest. 
After this incident, Jatinder was arrested on September 8 and after six days of remand, he was sent to Ambala Central Jail. According to information, Jatinder had gangrene in his leg, so he was often sick. He was admitted to the jail dispensary for several days, where he committed suicide in the toilet.
