Principal Harbhajan Singh Vichar Manch organized a discussion and musical concert

Mahilpur, March 30:- Dedicated to the memory of the founder Principal Harbhajan Singh of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa College Mahilpur, Principal Harbhajan Singh Vichar Manch organized an annual discussion and musical concert at the Gadri Baba Harjap Singh Memorial Convention Hall of the college. Eminent thinker Dr. Pyare Lal Garg and educationist Sucha Singh Khatra participated as the main speakers on this occasion.
The ceremony began with the singing of ‘Mitra Pyare Nu’ by students of the music department of the college, Prabhayansh Singh and Satvir Kaur. At the beginning of the ceremony, the coordinator of the program, Prof. Ajit Langeri, shared his welcome words for the personalities present, discussed the contribution made by Principal Harbhajan Singh to the society and thanked the colleagues sitting in the country and abroad for organizing the program.
On this occasion, Dr. Pyare Lal Garg expressed concern over the deterioration in the current Punjabi society, politics, religion and education system. He said that the culture of Punjab is one that upholds the values ??of life given by Baba Farid where 'Baar Paray Baisna' is like dying out for the Punjabi people but the governments from time to time in the greed of their votes have turned the Punjabi people into freeloaders by giving attractive slogans.
He said that the cultural model of Punjab has been built with the pillars of self-respect, cooperation, love and fellowship but nowadays consumerism is becoming dominant in every profession for which we need to take guidance from our religious heritage and constructive literature. In his address, he told about the commercialization of the medical profession, journalism profession, education and religion etc. with examples and inspired to raise voice against it.
On this occasion, Dr. Sucha Singh Khatra expressed his views on the challenges facing the education of Punjab. He said that teachers are the most enlightened class of the society but currently the teaching profession and education system are surrounded by many problems. He expressed concern over the commercialization as well as communalization of education and criticized its responsible parties.
He said that the teaching class needs to play its role as a socially conscious citizen not only in terms of their subject but also socially. He also gave ideas to the teachers' organizations to adopt new paths in their policies and also inspired Punjabis to be politically equipped with pro-people consciousness.
On the occasion, Shiromani Children's Literature writer Baljinder Mann and sports promoter Roshanjit Panam told about the academic and sports achievements of Khalsa College Mahilpur including the contribution of Principal Harbhajan Singh. Harman and Munish, students of the college's theatrical stage, won the applause of the audience by reciting political and social jokes through Bhand Kala. On this occasion, the anti-war songs performed by Prof. Surjit Judge and sung by singer Paramjit Kaur enthralled the audience.
The Principal of the college, Dr. Parvinder Singh, shared his words of gratitude and assured all kinds of support.
