PreSIR Based Special Camps to be Held on June 7 Deputy Commissioner

Bathinda, June 3: District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Dhiman, I.A.S., announced that, in accordance with the directives of the Chief Electoral Officer, Punjab, special camps based on the Pre-SIR (Special Intensive Revision) process are being organized at polling booths across District Bathinda on June 7 (Sunday), from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
He stated that under this special campaign—aimed at ensuring the absolute accuracy and currency of voter lists—all Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will be present at their respective booths on Sunday, June 7. The primary objective of these camps is to render the electoral process and the work related to voter lists more transparent, error-free, and streamlined. Voters whose names have not yet been mapped against the 2003 voter list are urged to utilize this special camp to get their voter details mapped.
The District Election Officer further informed that a partial amendment has been made to the schedule for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR)—previously issued by the Election Commission of India—under which the initial publication of the voter lists will now take place on August 3, 2026, instead of July 31. Similarly, claims and objections will be received from August 3 to September 2, 2026, and these will be disposed of between August 3 and September 28.
The District Election Officer added that the remainder of the schedule will proceed as originally planned; accordingly, from June 25 to July 24, Booth Level Officers will conduct door-to-door visits to distribute enumeration forms to voters, collect the signed forms after assisting the respective voters in filling out the necessary details. The final publication of the voter list is scheduled for October 1, 2026.
