Police personnel rewarded for efforts leading to conviction of drug traffickers

Nawanshahr, September 4:- Under the reward scheme launched by the government for police personnel, officers and public prosecutors who worked to ensure the conviction of accused persons in drug-related cases in the Hon’ble Court, rewards were distributed to the concerned personnel today by SSP Shri Tushar Gupta in the presence of SP (PBI and SP Operations) Sarabjit Singh Bahia and SP (Investigation) Harinder Singh.
Addressing the gathering on the occasion, Shri Tushar Gupta said that today’s event is a very important and proud occasion for all of us. The police officers and personnel who, during the ongoing campaign by the Police Department against drug trafficking and related crimes, have demonstrated hard work, honesty, courage and professional competence by apprehending drug traffickers and taking legal action against them to its logical conclusion deserve appreciation.
“Our objective is not merely to recover drugs or arrest traffickers, but also to ensure that the accused are punished in accordance with the law in court through strong and transparent investigation. The rewards and commendation certificates given to the police personnel today are recognition of their hard work and dedication.”
He said that the department would continue to make every possible effort to encourage officers and personnel who perform well. These rewards are not merely individual honours but also a source of inspiration for the entire police force.
He appealed to all officers and personnel to further strengthen their action against drugs, give the highest priority to compliance with the law and perform their duties honestly without being influenced by any kind of pressure or temptation. “Only through our collective efforts can we move towards creating a drug-free and safe society.”
He congratulated all the police officers and personnel receiving the rewards. He said that the Police Department would continue its fight against drug trafficking with full determination and would leave no stone unturned to bring anyone violating the law within its ambit.
