Police issues advisory for those going on Kanwar Yatra

Ambala, 30 July:- Ambala Police issuing advisory to conduct Kanwar Yatra in smooth, safe and peaceful manner has instructed that registration should be done at nearest police station before yatra and rules and instructions should be followed.
Police says that Kanwar Yatra starts with beginning of holy month of Sawan. On this auspicious occasion devotees of Lord Shiva bring Ganga water from Haridwar and perform Jalabhishek in temples of their respective areas. Keeping enthusiasm, faith and safety of devotees in mind, Ambala Police has issued special guidelines and appeal for Kanwar devotees and Kanwar camp organizers.
All devotees should get registration done at their nearest police station before going on yatra and should keep their ID card with them during yatra. During yatra carrying spear, trishul or any other sharp/lethal weapon is strictly prohibited. Kanwar devotees should avoid consuming any kind of intoxicant and participate peacefully in yatra. Vehicle should be driven within prescribed lanes on road and bikes without silencer or bursting crackers should not be used, and traffic rules should be strictly followed.
Issuing instructions for Kanwar camp organizers they should inform concerned police station before organizing event and camps should be set up on left side of road at prescribed distance so that traffic is not disrupted. For security reasons, installation of CCTV cameras in all camps is mandatory. In case of emergency, police and medical assistance will be available at all times.
SP Ajit Singh Shekhawat said that police patrol and assistance vehicles will be deployed on Kanwar routes. In case of any untoward incident or road accident, adequate arrangements have been made for medical facilities and immediate assistance.
Police has issued special instruction that "Kanwar devotees and organizers should follow guidelines issued by administration to ensure successful and safe yatra. In case of any emergency, immediately contact helpline number 112. Ambala Police is always ready for service, safety and assistance."
