Police constable killed in Amritsar Relatives accused of murder over domestic dispute
Amritsar:- A case of death of a police constable has come to light in an attack over a domestic dispute in village Jagdev Kalan of Rajasansi area of ??Amritsar. The deceased has been identified as Jagjit Singh, who was posted as a security guard with DSP in Gurdaspur. According to the information received, Jagjit Singh had returned from duty to his village Jagdev Kalan yesterday evening.
Meanwhile, some people from the village attacked his house over a domestic dispute. The wife of the deceased, Harjit Kaur, said that Balraj Singh, a resident of the village, who is also his relative, brought 8 to 10 people with him in vehicles and started beating up Jagjit Singh and his family members as soon as they arrived.
During this, the attackers attacked him with rods and sticks. He said that during the attack, Jagjit Singh fell down after being hit on the head with a rod. After this, the attackers fled from the spot in their vehicles. Jagjit Singh was being taken to Amritsar for treatment by his family members in an unconscious state, but he died on the way.
The family members have demanded strict action against the accused in this case. In this regard, SHO of Rajasansi police station Harsimrat Kaur said that the police have reached the spot and taken stock of the situation.
He said that based on the statements of the family members, a case has been registered against the alleged accused and the accused will be arrested soon. He also said that the body of the deceased Jagjit Singh has been sent to Ajnala for postmortem, where his postmortem will be done in the morning.
