Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, November 15: A special campaign was launched to increase awareness about traffic rules under the guidelines of District SAS Nagar Senior Superintendent of Police Mr. Harmandeep Singh Hans and Superintendent of Police (Traffic) Mr. Navneet Singh Mahal.
Under this campaign, special checking of Jugadu hawkers and modified vehicles was conducted by Karnail Singh, Deputy Superintendent of Police (Traffic). During the checking, legal action was taken against the vehicles which were modified in violation of the rules or were converted into Jugadu hawkers as per the traffic rules.
Instructions were also issued to the traffic officers and all the employees that if any person is found using Jugadu hawkers in their area, then appropriate action should be taken against him immediately. The police have also warned that such vehicles can pose a serious risk to road safety and may lead to an untoward incident in the future.
