PMRKVY Rs 1122 crore agriculture action plan approved for Haryana
Chandigarh, March 19:- Under the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (PM-RKVY), the Haryana State Level Sanction Committee (SLSC) has approved a comprehensive annual project of about Rs 1122 crore for the financial year 2026-27.
This decision was taken in a meeting held here today under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Shri Anurag Rastogi. During the meeting, the progress of the ongoing schemes was reviewed and the action plan for the upcoming year 2026-27 was finalized. The objective of this action plan is to increase agricultural productivity, promote sustainable agricultural practices, improve irrigation efficiency and strengthen agricultural infrastructure in the state.
Shri Anurag Rastogi stressed on effective implementation of schemes, timely utilization of funds and increasing coordination between various departments so that the benefits of these schemes reach the farmers at the ground level.
The meeting also reviewed the status of implementation of Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana, Krishonatti Yojana and National Natural Agriculture Mission. Officials said that during the year 2025-26, the Central Government had released the first installment of Rs. 318.17 crore for Haryana under various components of PM-RKVY, out of which an amount of Rs. 240.46 crore has been utilized. This utilization rate is more than 75 percent.
It was also informed in the meeting that for the year 2026-27, the Central Government has fixed a central share of Rs. 545.53 crore for Haryana under PM-RKVY, while the state government will contribute Rs. 363.69 crore. Thus, the total allocation will be Rs. 909.22 crore.
Giving priority to agricultural mechanization and crop residue management in the state, a major portion of the budget has been allocated for these sectors. Under the Agricultural Mechanization Sub-Mission, an expenditure of Rs. 200 crore has been approved for making modern agricultural inputs available to farmers. In addition, Rs. 250 crore has been allocated for crop residue management, which will be used to promote residue management in the field through purchase of machines and awareness programs and to reduce the problem of stubble burning.
The committee also approved several initiatives with the aim of promoting crop diversification and natural farming. A provision of Rs. 110 crore has been made under the Integrated Horticulture Development Mission. This will expand horticultural activities, develop post-harvest infrastructure and strengthen marketing facilities. To promote efficient use of water in agriculture, Rs 160 crore has been allocated under the But Drop More Crop Programme. At the same time, a provision of Rs 15 crore has been made to promote natural farming in the state.
Under the food security related initiatives, allocations have also been approved for programmes like National Oilseeds Mission, Self-Reliance in Pulses Mission and National Food Security and Nutrition Mission. The aim of these schemes is to promote the production of oilseeds, pulses and food grains in the state and reduce dependence on imports. Apart from this, the meeting approved Rs 6 crore under the National Beekeeping and Honey Mission, which will give impetus to beekeeping activities and increase the income of farmers.
The committee has also approved several projects related to agricultural infrastructure development. These include strengthening research facilities, improving irrigation resources and promoting integrated farming system. The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department, Mr. Pankaj Agarwal, Commissioner and Secretary, Finance Department, Mr. Mohammad Shine, Director General of the Department, Mr. Rajnarayan Kaushik and other senior officials.
