PM Modi launches nationwide Human Papilloma Virus vaccination campaign for 14yearold girls

Ajmer:- Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a nationwide Human Papilloma Virus vaccination campaign for 14-year-old girls from Ajmer, Rajasthan. The campaign against cervical cancer was formally launched at a programme held at Ajmer's Qaid, where several girls were vaccinated. On the occasion, the Prime Minister also interacted with the vaccine recipients.
According to officials, the single-dose 'Gardasil 4' vaccine, which is a quadrivalent human papillomavirus vaccine, will be used under this campaign. This injection provides protection against human papillomavirus types 16 and 18, which are responsible for cervical cancer, as well as types 6 and 11.
The Union Health Ministry, in an official notification sent to all states on February 25, said, "All 14-year-old girls across the country will be given one dose of 'Gardasil 4' vaccine in government health facilities, including Ayushman Arogya Mandirs (primary health centers), community health centers, sub-district and district hospitals and government medical colleges and hospitals."
