Play an Active Role in the Successful Conduct of Census2026 Deputy Commissioner
Una, June 3: Deputy Commissioner of Una, Jatin Lal, has appealed to all citizens of the district to ensure their active participation in the first phase of Census-2026. He stated that a census serves as the cornerstone for the holistic and balanced development of any state or country. The data obtained through this process plays a pivotal role in the effective expansion and implementation of future development plans, public welfare programs, and basic infrastructure facilities.
The Deputy Commissioner informed that the first phase of Census-2026 in Himachal Pradesh will be conducted from June 16 to July 15. Additionally, for the convenience of citizens, a 'Self-Enumeration' facility has been made available; under this provision, citizens can visit the portal se.census.gov.in between June 1 and June 15 to digitally submit their family details online.
He remarked that the self-enumeration facility represents a significant initiative aimed at fostering public participation. Upon successfully submitting their details on the portal, citizens will receive a unique Self-Enumeration ID, which they must provide to the enumerator visiting their home during the door-to-door survey.
The Deputy Commissioner further explained that during the designated period, enumerators will visit every household to collect notified information—pertaining to the family, housing, available basic amenities, and assets—using a mobile application. He gave an assurance that all information collected during the census would be kept strictly confidential and utilized solely for census-related purposes.
He noted that the first phase involves the compilation of vital statistics regarding households, families, and available amenities. This data will prove instrumental in making various developmental schemes—including those related to education, health, drinking water, roads, and housing—more effective, inclusive, and people-centric.
The Deputy Commissioner also informed that, to ensure the smooth and high-quality execution of the census operations, a training program for enumerators and supervisors was launched on Wednesday at the Una Municipal Corporation office. Through training sessions, relevant officials and employees are being provided with essential information regarding the census process, the use of digital tools, and the accurate compilation of data.
Participating in the self-enumeration process himself, he encouraged citizens to make the utmost use of this facility. The Deputy Commissioner stated that the census is not merely an administrative procedure, but a national campaign that steers the future course of development—one in which the participation of every citizen is of paramount importance.
He urged all residents of the district to utilize the self-enumeration facility to its fullest extent and to extend their complete cooperation to the census officials. When census officials visit your homes, please provide them with accurate, complete, and factual information so that development plans can be effectively formulated in alignment with the actual needs of the region, thereby realizing the vision of a developed Himachal.
