Chandigarh: 16.1.2026:- Today, a positive and meaningful meeting was held with the respected office bearers and municipal councilors of Aam Aadmi Party regarding the mayoral election under the chairmanship of Chandigarh Incharge Jarnail Singh. Co-incharge Sunny Singh Ahluwalia, Chandigarh President Vijaypal Singh and General Secretary Omkar Singh Aulakh were specially present in the meeting.
Addressing the meeting, Incharge Jarnail Singh said that Aam Aadmi Party is fully prepared for the mayoral election and the party councilors will come out strongly united on the issues of the people. He stressed that the party's aim is not just to win the mayoral seat, but to provide better, cleaner and more accountable administration to Chandigarh.
During the meeting, the councillors apprised the leadership about the BJP-ruled Chandigarh Municipal Corporation's indiscriminate dumping of garbage at the Dadu Majra dumping ground, the deplorable condition of cow shelters and other serious public interest issues. The councillors said that due to these problems, the city residents are facing serious problems related to health, environment and basic amenities.
Aam Aadmi Party leaders said that the people of Chandigarh are completely fed up with the BJP's misrule and now want honest, transparent and pro-people leadership in the municipal corporation. It was also decided in the meeting that the party will raise its voice strongly on every issue of the city and continue its struggle to protect the interests of the people.
